The Sindhu Saraswati Initiative is a transformative research project aimed at exploring the origins of Modern Bharat by tracing the roots of its ancient and prehistoric civilizations. Central to this initiative is the exploration of the Sindhu (Indus) and Saraswati river valleys, regions that played a pivotal role in the development of early Indian culture, language, and religion.

Saraswati Paleochannels

The Sindhu Saraswati research delves into the Saraswati River paleochannels, a crucial aspect of the study, as they shed light on the once-mighty Saraswati River, which nurtured a vast, flourishing civilization.

The rediscovery of the once mighty Saraswati River that went extinct 3000 years ago, establishes the clear connection between Sindhu Saraswati Civilization and the Rigveda. It also invalidates the Aryan Invasion/Migration Theory and the Out of India Theory.

Sanskrit Language

Sanskrit in its early form is believed to be the lingua franca of the ancient Sindhu Saraswati Civilization. Though it is still to be proven as an established facts, there are many researchers that strongly believe this to be true. Sanskrit in its pre-refined form, probably closer to its branching off from Prakrit could be the language of the Sindhu Saraswati inhabitants.

Bhagwan Shiv as Pashupatinath

The Pashupatinath Seal acts as a key connection between modern day Hinduism (often called as the Sanatani Religion) and the ancient Sindhu Saraswati Civilization.

This story talks of a person who goes into the forest and upon being chased by a tiger (imminent death) climbs a bilva (or bel) tree. To avoid falling down to his death, the person then proceeds to count leaves of the tree on whose branch he sat. He plucks the leaves one by one and drops them below, not knowing that under the tree, there was a Shiva Linga (stone idol representing Bhagwan Shiva).

Swastik Button Seal

Swastik Button Seal made of Faience was discovered in Trench 43 of Room 202 in Mohanjodaro by Gregory Possehl and his team. The seal establishes the connection of modern day Hinduism (Sanatani culture) with the Sindhu-Saraswati civilization.

The Swatik continues to the present day as the symbol of prosperity.

By studying these interconnected threads—linguistic, hydrological, religious, and mythological—the Sindhu Saraswati Initiative provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the foundations of Modern Bharat. It emphasizes the continuity of India’s cultural, spiritual, and intellectual traditions, offering a holistic view of how ancient civilizations laid the groundwork for the socio-cultural identity of today’s India. Through this research, the initiative fosters a deeper appreciation of Bharat’s enduring heritage and its global significance.
